SwiftReel - Quick Reels · Last updated October 1, 2026
SwiftReel - Quick Reels (“SwiftReel”, “we”) is a Shopify app that lets merchants show shoppable videos on their online store. This policy explains what information the app collects when a merchant installs it, how that information is used, and how it is deleted.
Information we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Store domain and the access token Shopify issues at installation | To authenticate the app and call the Shopify API on the merchant’s behalf. |
| Reels the merchant creates: titles, captions, video and cover links, placement groups | To display the merchant’s videos on their storefront. |
| Products the merchant tags: product ID, handle, title, price and image link | To show those products in the video player. |
| Widget design settings and subscription plan | To style the widget and enable plan features. |
| Anonymous, aggregated counts per reel per day (views, product clicks, add-to-carts) | To show the merchant how their reels perform. |
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect or store personal information about the merchant’s customers: no names, emails, addresses, phone numbers, payment details or order contents.
- Storefront analytics are anonymous counters. The widget sets no cookies and builds no visitor profiles.
- We do not sell, rent or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Where data is stored
Videos uploaded through the app are stored in the merchant’s own Shopify Files and served by Shopify’s CDN. App data is stored in MongoDB Atlas, and the app runs on Google Cloud Run in the United States. Like most web services, our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
How long we keep data
When a merchant uninstalls SwiftReel, the access token is deleted immediately. Shopify then sends us a data-erasure request 48 hours later, at which point we permanently delete all of the store’s reels, settings and analytics. We also honor Shopify’s customer data request and customer redaction requests; because we hold no customer personal data, there is nothing to export or erase for individual customers.
Your rights
Merchants can view, edit and delete their reels and settings at any time inside the app, and may request a copy or deletion of their store’s data by contacting us. If you are located in the EEA, UK or California, you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal information under the GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
